About Us

The SPOH charitable trust was set up after the tragic loss of Shaun Paul O’Hagan in the morning of 1st January 2007.

Shaun Paul playing FootballThe loss of Shaun Paul came as a great shock not only to the local community,but also to people all over Ulster and Ireland, as he was a well known sportsman renouned for his fitness and temperament both on and of the field. He trained regularly, ran fast, played hard, he did not stop he did not give up. He was the first at training and the last to leave, he was always thinking of his sport, he never went to work without 2 litres of water in his bag, he prepared for his games and assisted in team tactics, management and strategy. He was constantly laughing and making you laugh, time in his presence passed quickly.

We, his family and friends established the trust in 2008 with the aim to try to raise funds to provide equipment and to promote the rehabilitation and independence of individuals involved in road traffic accidents.

The launch of the trust took place on Saturday 22nd November 2008, held in the Glensway tavern Martinstown, £3175 was raised for the trust at this event.

The SPOH charitable trust has been registered with HMRC with effect from the 14th February 2009 under the reference XT14849.
